Quilt Africa Fabrics

I grew up reading cloth — following my mother through the fabric markets of Lagos, watching her pick up a wrapper and know it: its name, its colour, the occasion it was made for.

That became Quilt Africa Fabrics — a community gathered, over nine years, around the cloth of Africa and what happens when you dare to cut into it.

Wax print has always been our common thread. Alongside it we've worked with Adire and aso-oke. This season we move to akwete, the handwoven cloth of the Igbo of eastern Nigeria — and marry it with the wax we love.
